The Acts of Care

For me, care is love. Same love you pour into cooking for your cherished ones, went into crafting this board. I personally select the best materials, meticulously mill and arrange hardwoods to create immaculate stout boards that can sustain decades of vigorous use.

Here’s how to care for your board to ensure it helps create joyful memories in your kitchen for years to come:

CLEAN after every use:

DO wash your board ONLY by hand.

DO use liquid dish soap to wash your board.

DO wipe your clean board dry, and let it finish by air-drying on its side.

DON’T soak the board. You can submerge it in water, but only for a quick dunk.

DON’T put wooden cutting boards in the dishwasher.

DON’T use harsh, concentrated cleaners on your cutting board.

MAINTAIN once a month or as needed

STEP ONE: wash and dry your board thoroughly.

STEP TWO: using cloth or paper towel apply Wood Butter all over the board in circular motions. Cover both sides and the ends. Keep adding more butter, if needed. For best results melt wood butter in microwave before application. Our food-grade Butter uses mineral oil, bees' and carnauba wax with a hint of lemon essential oil to penetrate and seal your board.

STEP THREE: let board sit for about 20 minutes until the board butter is cured (a layer of wax appears on top). Wipe and buff with a lint-free cloth, and let it finish by air-drying on its side.

To sanitize after prepping raw meat spray with 1/2 vinegar/water solution. Let sit for a few minutes and wipe it with a damp warm cloth. We recommend keeping a spray bottle of vinegar handy.

To remove smells (think residual onion vapors) sprinkle some salt and rub a halved lemon over the surface. Let it sit for few minutes, then wipe off the board.

To remove stains sprinkle with baking soda. Rub with a warm damp cloth, then rinse away any excess baking soda.
